1892

Chaim Trau sets the groundwork for what will become the multinational Trau Group. He opens a diamond company in Amsterdam, Netherlands, then the global hub of diamond trading.

1905

Chaim Trau becomes one of the pioneers of the rose cut diamond, earning international acclaim.

1920

Chaim Trau opens up operations in Antwerp, Belgium, which will become the central hub of the Trau Group for over a century.

1929

Isak Trau joins his father, Chaim Trau, at Trau Bros, employing his‏ innovation and creativity to lead the company’s response to the Great Depression. Here he is, years later, presenting a Trau Collection to King Baudouin of Belgium.

1935

Isak and Charles, the Trau Brothers, revolutionize the art of cutting ovals and marquises. Fancies becomes synonymous with Trau Bros.

1947

Trau Bros are awarded the much coveted DTC Sightholder status, an award they have maintained until today, outlasting every other DTC Sightholder.

1960

Trau Bros broadens its horizons: Solomon Trau establishes our New York office.

1977

Trau Bros celebrates 30 years of Sightholder status.

1992

Philippe and Didier Amiel, grandchildren of Isak Trau, and Laurent Trau, grandchild of Charles Trau, fifth-generation diamantaires, join Trau Bros; they are soon to lead it into its second century, becoming its directors and leading its global expansion. 

2002

A busy year for Trau Bros as they launch their Scintilla Monaco collection and open an office in Dubai.

2003

Trau Bros expands eastwards and open a vibrant office in the heart of Israel’s Diamond district.

2005

The grand launch of Scintilla in Monaco. Albert II, Prince of Monaco, is pictured with Scintilla jewellery at the launch. 

2006

Trau Bros establishes a presence in Africa: they open a bustling diamond factory in Namibia.

2012

Trau Bros’ global expansion continues. Politicians, royalty and celebrities alike wear Trau diamonds. Michelle Obama wears Trau diamonds at the 2012 Presidential Inauguration Ball.

2016

Scintilla Monaco reaches Japan.

2022

Trau Bros prepare to launch “Lucy: Home of Genuine”, an innovative, new, inhouse brand.
